Advice Issued For: Avenel, Tarcombe Fire Origin: AVENEL Incident Name: AVENEL - TARCOMBE RD Issued: 03/12/14 10:00 AM This UPDATED Advice message is being issued by Country Fire Authority for Avenel, Tarcombe. CFA and DEPI firefighters have responded to a fire in the AVENEL, TARCOMBE area. The fire at Booroola in the area south east of Avenel around the Booroola Homestead is currently contained. Fire activity has subsided overnight. Crews from CFA and DEPI will continue to work on the fire today maintaining the perimeter and blacking out accordingly. This may continue for the next few days. The fire has burnt approximately 120 hectares of grass and scrub in steep difficult terrain. Smoke will be visible from nearby communities and roads. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. The next update is expected by 04/12/14 10:00 AM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. We advise tourists and public to take extra care when travelling on the roads in this area as emergency vehicles will be operating throughout the day.
