Advice Issued For: Barringo, Bolinda, Cherokee, Gisborne, Lancefield, Macedon, Monegeetta, Monegeetta North, Mount Macedon, New Gisborne, Riddells Creek, Romsey Fire Origin: GISBORNE Incident Name: DALRYMPLE RD Issued: 09/02/14 9:13 PM This is a DOWNGRADED Advice message issued by Country Fire Authority for Barringo, Bolinda, Cherokee, Gisborne, Lancefield, Macedon, Monegeetta, Monegeetta North, Mount Macedon, New Gisborne, Riddells Creek, Romsey. Firefighters have stopped the spread of the grassfire in the GISBORNE area. The grassfire is contained. Firefighters will continue to be on scene blacking out and attending hot spots throughout the night. Community members are asked to stay vigilant and informed as the situation may change. Flames and smoke will be visible from nearby communities and roads. For Residents Only: Residents wishing to return their homes in the fire affected areas between Gisborne and Riddells Creek can do so via these Traffic Management Points. Identification is strictly required: Kilmore Road and Riddell Road, Riddells Creek Kilmore and Campbell Road, Riddels Creek Calder Fwy and Emmaline Drive, Gisborne Mundy Road and Calder Fwy, Gisborne South Dalrymple Road and Riddell Road, Sunbury Websters Road and Settlement Road, Clarkfield School buses are expected to run as normal in the fire affected area but may be subject to changes. Road Closures: Calder Highway is open in both directions at a speed restriction of 60 km/h. Numerous road closures are in place check VicRoads website. Railway tracks are being assessed for fire damage prior to allowing trains to proceed. The next update is expected by 10/02/14 9:30 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. Continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Contact a family member or friend to tell them what you plan to do now. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
