Advice Issued For: Creightons Creek, Gooram, Longwood East, Old Longwood, Ruffy Fire Origin: Creighton Creek Incident Name: CFA - CREIGHTONS CREEK 1497917 Issued: 20/12/14 5:38 PM This Advice message is being issued by Country Fire Authority for Creightons Creek, Gooram, Longwood East, Old Longwood, Ruffy. Fire crews spent the day patrolling, burning out and consolidating the control lines around the fire. Fire fighters remain in the area and are monitoring the situation and working to contain hot spots. The relief centre at Wesley Hall, Bury Street Euroa, will be open on Monday with a recovery meeting being scheduled for 2pm with representatives from agencies like DHS,Council, DEPI, VicPol, Landcare, Blaze Aid, Red Cross, VFBV and VFF to assist in the recovery of landowners affected by this fire. Creightons Creek Road and Longwood Gobur Road are now open to the public with 60km speed limit restrictions. Drivers are urged to drive slowly and be aware of the road conditions. Longwood Ruffy Road remains closed. Minor roads and lanes off Creightons Creek Road remain closed due to the high risk of falling trees until resources can assess and deal with them. Trees impacted by fire present an extreme risk to all persons in the area. Work by the Strathbogie Shire crews on clearing hazardous trees along roads in the fire area is expected to take several days. DEPI Agricultural crews are also in the area assisting with stock assessment. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions as the fire is not yet contained. The situation will continue to be reviewed. Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. The next update is expected by 21/12/14 12:00 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
