Advice Issued For: Morwell Fire Origin: MORWELL Incident Name: CFA - MORWELL - 1468472 Issued: 14/05/14 11:55 AM This Advice message is being issued by Country Fire Authority for Morwell. Firefighters are working to extinguish small peat fire smouldering in the Morwell Wetlands, east of the Strzelecki Highway near the MORWELL township. This fire is 1.4km west of the Hazelwood Mine and is unrelated to the previous mine fire. There is no threat to communities. A very small amount of smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. The next update is expected by 14/05/14 5:00 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. Stay Informed: Via cfa.vic.gov.au. Tune to ABC Local Radio, commercial and designated community radio stations, or Sky News TV. Call the Victorian Bushfire Information Line (VBIL) on freecall 1800 240 667.
