Security Alert - Operation Sacred Obligation. It would appear - TopicsExpress

Security Alert - Operation Sacred Obligation. It would appear that our Facebook site is under the scrutiny and that the context of what is said is being used to discredit the CVA. My position on Remembrance day protest is one of the heart, like many, I do not feel it is appropriate to do anything that would be considered disrespectful or impolite in respect to the fallen. It is also personal to me. I have many friends who I have served with that have been called Home. I ask that you respect my decision, both on a personal level and an organizational level as I will respect yours. We are all called in different ways. I would note the seriousness of this issue and the misleading nature of the attached blog post. The need for all CVA supporters, from this moment on, to be careful that we stay on message is paramount to our success on many levels. We must also be cognizant that this SITE IS MONITORED, sharpening our focus on the issues and ensure what has transpired does not occur again. Many will recall the research thread in question for the blog article I am planning as part of Operation Sacred Obligation. I have dispatched a friendly letter to Daniel telling him he must be confused and explaining the situation but it is still out there, as they say. And is clearly read as our director in Ottawa was approached by several MPs upset that we were engaging on R day. I am very concerned on two levels, that a frustrated veteran may read it and it a call to arms on our behalf or b, a veteran and those with in the Canadian public that read will believe the CVA no longer credible. Conversely, I am also concerned about the level of discourse on the board lately and manner in which many of the thread have disi9ntegrated int0o endless drivel about the past governments yada yada yada. It ends tonight, issues that do not focus on veterans will be deleted. If you are compelled to engage in friendly banter or wish to speak about other issues, just click on the persons name, add anybody else you wish to include in the conversations and enjoy yourself. We are at Defcon 3. This site is being monitored by those who do not share our vision and things said here in the heat of the moment used against the CVA. Adopt, overcome, prevail. We must ensure our message is focused. If necessary, we will change the format and make the facebook network private until after Remembrance Day I am sorry it has come to this, but MISSION -TEAM-SELF! There will be an effort to discredit both me, as the primary CVA spokesperson and the CVA, it is and was inevitable. Judging by the news -Duffygate-, the modus de operandi, I would say my concerns are justified. We will stand fast, or will they successfully divide us? Will we stand fast, of will they successfully conquer the spirit we have created? Mike, Pres, CVA +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Saturday, October 19, 2013 Extreme veterans group threaten to assault Prime Minister, vandalize MPs offices What was once a respectable non-profit advocacy group for veterans has taken a turn for the extreme in advance of the 2013 Remembrance Day ceremonies. Founder and President of the Canadian Veterans Advocacy Mike Blais posted late on October 18 that some ideas for what veterans might do on R[emembrance] Day include booing the Prime Minister when he speaks at the National War Memorial; spitting on the Prime Minister (read: assault him); egging MPs (read: assault them); and egging MPs offices (read: commit vandalism). Unfortunately, simply by threatening violence against elected officials (including the Prime Minister) and vandalism against public offices, this group has lost all credibility as a non-partisan, professional advocate on behalf of Canadas veterans. ` danieldickin.ca/2013/10/extreme-veterans-group-threaten-to.html
