Africa Nazarene University was named as one of the Regional Leadership Centers to support the Young Africa Leaders Initiative (YALI) in Kenya. The Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders which was renamed the Mandela Fellowship for Young African Leaders is a flagship program of President Obamas Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) that empowers young people through academic coursework, leadership training and networking. Fellowships provide outstanding young leaders from Sub Saharan Africa with the opportunity to hone their skills at a U.S university and with support for professional development after they return home. The Regional Leadership Centers will provide quality leadership training, support entrepreneurship and enhance professional networking. Training and mentorship will focus on 3 track areas of business and entrepreneurship, civic engagement and public administration.
