Africair, Inc. is sponsoring Mark Barrett in the Elephant Charge this year. He is the navigator for the CLZ Mud Hogs and will be driving car number 13. Good look to Mark and all the competitors this weekend! The Elephant Charge challenges teams of cars and motorbikes to complete a grueling course through the Zambian bush. The event is held at a different location each year over Zambias Independence weekend in late October. The winning team is the one that completes a course of nine checkpoints in the shortest distance possible. Each team must find their own route between the checkpoints through valleys, over ridges and up escarpments in a trial of driving, navigating and endurance. The Elephant Charge raises funds for the key NGO conservation bodies in Zambia such as: Wildlife Conservation Society of Zambia, South Luangwa Conservation Society - SLCS, Conservation Lake Tanganyika, North Luangwa Conservation Project, Kasanka Trust Zambia, GRI - Game Rangers International, Children in the Wilderness, Birdwatch Zambia, Project Luangwa Kids in the Wild, Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust - CWET, Zambian Carnivore Programme, GRI - Muzovu Awareness Project. Join us in celebrating and supporting the efforts that these organizations endure in order to keep our wildlife thriving in Africa. This race will be taking place from today October 24-26. We will have an update with photos as soon as the event is over. elephantcharge.org/
