After 12th Century, the Angkor and Khmer Empire collapsed, and this collapse was closely linked to the poor water management, resulted in crop failures and famines, failing to feed mass soldiers. The poor water management continues to remain rampant until the present day, putting Cambodia the poorest country in Southeast Asia and the World. Due to poor water management, the country is situated between too-much water in the wet season and too-little water in the dry season.
