After 19 years of reviewing videogames (and a spell of movies in there for a while) Ive become fairly numb to flashy special effects, computer generated images and cutting edge graphics. The wonder has gone out of it - and it takes something really special to make my jaw drop in awe. Today that happened again - when I went to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. What an amazing piece of art it is. Great story aside - its a visual feast and had me picking my jaw up off the ground several times throughout. Being in the graphic design industry - I have a passing knowledge of what it takes to produce CG like this - and yet I can only begin to imagine the countless hours of work that the highly skilled folk at Weta Digital have put in. You should be very proud of the result - one of your finest works in my opinion. And thanks for restoring my sense of wonder again. If you havent seen it yet - make sure you do.
