After 2 hours on the phone I was finally able to get an estimated cost on a 45 minute surgery to remove a few little pieces of bone that are floating around my ankle from an old injury. Its going to be about $13,500. The doctor charges ~$2,000, anesthesia ~$4,000, and the hospital ~$7,000 -- $100 a minute in the operating room is the bulk of the charges. I wish I could take my business elsewhere. so dumb.
