After 81days of inactivity, polythecnic students across the country are expected to pick up their bag and baggage and return to their respective institutions as the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics(ASUP) suspends its strike today. The ASUP Chairman, Dr. Chibuzor Asumogba, told Vanguard in a phone interview that the decision was made by the National Economic Committe of the Union as a result of the interaction of the Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Representatives on Education. According to him, the union gave the government representatives one month to accede to their demands. Dr. Chibuzor however called on all lecturers to go back to work.
