After 9 hours in court yesterday, our lawsuit was dismissed. The county clerks admitted that certain voters were being disenfranchised by not being allowed to vote in certain local races due to conflicting residency requirements. They admitted that certain voters were being allowed to cast votes in races in which they were not eligible, effectively diluting the votes of properly eligible voters. However, at the end of the day, both the county clerks and the judge all agreed that these problems were minimal and did not warrant any immediate correcting. We showed them a specific case of a man who moved and was not allowed to vote in any school district race due to conflicting residency requirements, El Paso county clerk testified that 1600 voters were in the gray area of possibly not being allowed to vote, or voting where they were not allowed to, and Pueblo clerk Ortiz found 24 voters whom fell into those categories. They all agreed that these were such a low percentage of voters that they were too minimal to bother with. The judge went so far as to say these voters represent less than 1% of the total, so we basically did not have enough grounds to bring suit. So heres what were left with folks. County clerks that think it is acceptable to have a few voters not afforded their RIGHT to vote, and a few voters casting ballots where they are not allowed to, potentially canceling out YOUR vote. We also have a court system that doesnt think these few voters warrant their consideration in the matter. The only way we are going to change any of this is by getting honest people in these positions, that actually care about election integrity. Good people need to step up and change things from the inside!
