After Katrina, I mean, right after Katrina, and Rita...came that first All Souls Day afterward...and OH, did we have a burden to lay down...and here they came. From every nook-and-cranny, the 144,000 living souls left in the city came,,,in their bones...and it was on, in every way you think that a bunch of artists and musicians and puppeteers and craftsmen and etc. could make it happen...and lagniappe... Of course, since there was such a heavy Federal presence in the city, there were certain agents of certain alphabet-agencies who took one look at what was happening and said, Oh, SHIT! This is it! Theyve finally gotten fed-up to full-blown insurrection!!! These guys were following the parade. Id see their hollow, frightened eyes at every street-corner. So I finally stopped to talk to a couple of them when there was a stoppage in the parade... Hey guys. Relax. This is normal behavior around here. Do not let it scare you. Those people there are the same ones who daily serve your food, your drinks, and do your laundry...they are just practicing their Second Amendment rights... Their eyes got wider, if you can believe that, so I quickly corrected: Did I say Second Amendment? I guess I meant First Amendment... They relaxed somewhat, but then I added...
