The following four will be chaired by PM namely (i) Cabinet Committees on Security (ii) Cabinet Committees on Political Affairs (iii) Cabinet Committees on Economic Affairs (iv) Appointments Committee of the Cabinet Cabinet Committees on Parliamentary Affairs and on Accommodation will be headed by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Earlier, Prime Minister had scrapped the Cabinet Committees related to Prices, World Trade Matters, UIDAI and Management of Natural Calamities. 2. Greater Mekong region of South East Asia has been named Global Biodiversity Hotspot by WWF after 367 new species are discovered in the last two years. The region, which includes Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, is considered to be one of the five biodiversity hotspots of the world. 4. 14th annual World Refugee Day 2014 is observed across the globe on June 20. The event is dedicated to raising awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world. UN has continued with its erstwhile global theme “1 family torn apart by war is too many” even this year. 5. World Number One Chess player Magnus Carlsen clinches the FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship title in Dubai.
