After a discussion with a friend this morning I just need to post what we shared. We had both been blocked or unfriended recently by people who we had not had a disagreement with personally but by friends with whom we may not share the same political or ideological beliefs. This bothered John more than myself but I do feel sad that a friend cannot look past apparent differences in opinions and still remain friends. This is purely an observation on my part and not a complaint. If someone who claims to be a friend ( an I am not talking facebook friend where you have never met face to face) and you have shared good and bad times together decides they cannot handle the fact that you might have an opinion or view that differs from theirs......well I guess I feel they are a mile wide and an inch deep. Better that they do move on and find folks who think like they do. I find life much more interesting when I can have a spirited debate with someone and who wins or loses is secondary to the exchange of ideas. That is one Big reason I miss Sensei Al so much as he was that kind of Friend.
