After a fair amount of consideration and experimentation, I have concluded that frisbees are superior to tennis balls as fetch toys for dogs. Pros: 1. Travel farther and with more interesting variety of flight/roll characteristics 2. Dont get as slobbery and muddy 3. Much easier to remove from mouth of dog 4. more durable, can get more tosses/retrieves out of one before it degrades to the point of uselessness 5. Easier to find, both for dog and owner, should it fall in foliage. 6. More challenging for the dog to pick up and carry, therefore more stimulating Cons: 1. Somewhat more expensive than tennis balls
