After a houseful of wonderful company today, and then drifting off into a Tryptophan coma, then waking up a little after midnight in my La-Z-Boy, Ive had time to truly reflect on how thankful I am for my family. I know were often wont to say that its kind of phony that we Americans get together on these holidays as kind of a token nod to family, but, still, Im glad that these holidays give me a chance to see the people who are, as Anne Lamott puts it, my God-given pit crew. These people have known me either all or most of my life. And I thank God for each and every one.
