After a set of meetings this afternoon, I had a refreshing moment. I walked into my classroom with five 7th and 8th grade basketball players. To my surprise, they were not wrestling, playing basketball or football, not listening to music, nor were they playing on their phones. All five were focused on an ESPN 30 for 30 episode about a couple of young boys with cancer. It was silent. I was amazed at how they were so interested and concerned for the boys with cancer. When they found out one of the boys died, there was a hush in the group. I truly thought they were going to cry. I was impressed by the maturity of these Titan young men.
