After almost 50 years of rescuing animals (I started very young), I had never seen any animal in the condition Maggie was and is and still live. It’s a true testament to her determination her sheer will to live. Maggie is now resting in a kennel in our living room. She has a very long way to go. She is basically a skeleton with skin. Her wounds are healing but look terrible. She has absolutely no energy. When I post pictures if you are feint hearted I suggest you do not look. We made a promise to Maggie, that she would never know hunger again, and that we would be here to fight her battles with her. I couldn’t promise her she would never be sick, we all know that’s in God’s hands, but I did promise she would be cared for. Today her vet bill was a little over 1,500. She will need vet care for the next 3 months. She is on 5 different medicines, several antibiotics, treatment for mange, low dose heartworm killing med, pain meds and medicine for the diarrhea caused by all the other medicines. I you would like to help not only Maggie, but other dogs or cats like her please send a donation to: Second Chance of Orangeburg Animal Rescue Coalition, PO Box 1446, Orangeburg SC 29116 all donations are tax deductible and 100% or all donations go to the animals we do not have administrative fees my. We can’t save them all, I know. We can save them one at a time.
