Fifty years ago today the most important recording of the 20th Century was tracked at Rudy Van Gelders basement studio in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Twenty eight minutes from my boyhood home. I had no idea what was going down in Jersey cellars. Legend says Coltrane came through and out the other side of addiction through this composition. There he made Americas new sacred music. As time and events moved on, I entered into a phase which is contradictory to the pledge and away from the esteemed path. But thankfully now, through the merciful hand of God, I do perceive and have been fully re-informed of his omnipotence. It is truly a love supreme. Believe:
