This is the 10th of 50 #azguitar Instant Jazz Guitar Licks! These are designed to be bite-sized 15 second or less lessons to help you learn the jazz language as easy as possible. Learn a new lick every day and be on your way to be a jazz guitarist. Nothing beats learning directly from watching and since these are so short, you can watch them again and again till you can play the licks. If youve ever been overwhelmed trying to learn long jazz solos and getting nowhere, this series will hopefully help you learn step-by-step even if youve never played jazz licks before. #azguitar Instant Jazz Guitar Licks #10 Todays lick is a lick for DMaj7 This line is inspired by John Stowells playing. This line combines a DMaj7 arpeggio with 3 triads: E, F# and A that imply a Lydian, Lydian Augmented and finally a Ionian sound. I end the phrase with a 3 note voicing. Try this fingering and then experiment with other options to develop your fretboard knowldege. Listen closely to the dynamics and articulation within the line to get the flow of this melody.
