After enshrining the no pardon bill into law, Israel escalates its violations of Palestinian prisoners. There are currently 7000 Palestinians in Israeli prisons, which in itself a violation of the Geneva Conventions. They are usually abducted en-mass, at gunpoint by masked soldiers, in the middle of the night, from their homes, without a warrant, or any form of due process. Hundreds are currently held without charges or trial. In Israels prisons Palestinians systematically endure ill-treatment, beatings, torture, and medical neglect. Over 200 of Palestinian prisoners are children, over 20 of them are under 16 years of age. Boycott Israel! soldiers of the “Metzada” units, operating in Israeli prisons, and another support unit, invaded Section 11 and cuffed the detainees after attacking them, and moved them out of their rooms for several hours... Head of the Center, Osama Shahin, said the soldiers searched and ransacked the rooms, the prison canteen and the laundry room for several hours. The detainees were allowed back into their rooms, later on, to find out that the army had confiscated some of their belongings... “The Metzada has a dark history, known for excessive use of force and brutality causing the death of injury of dozens of detainees,” Shahin said.
