After five days of debilitating influenza, I stand in appreciation of my friend who checked on me Deborah Davis and my brother, James McKee and mother Ann McKee who showed true concern. I also recognize my overwhelming arrogance, that is though I watched others suffer through the inconsolable fatigue, I was sure it would not as long or be as devastating in me, HA. When I considered going to visit family on Christmas Eve, I realized that trudging through the airport, a usually delightly addition to the 10k step daily goal, would be exhausting and anyone in front of me might be seen as personally making my life miserable- LOL, and if the pilots dared to speak on the intercom, Katie bar the door. And finally, realized that each night I had soaked the sheets in sweat and if I did not have my Tylenol every 6 hours, the fever would spike again. I could not make others sick with what I had, so I stayed home. Thank God, this has abated and I dared walk a mile today!
