After four years and what will be sixteen issues, Im happy to - TopicsExpress

After four years and what will be sixteen issues, Im happy to announce that with Januarys Issue 17, Im stepping away from the day-to-day editorial operations of the Sibling Rivalry Press journal, Assaracus, to focus on our full-length collections, our non-profit, and (as time permits) my own writing. Im turning over the reins of Assaracus to Joseph Harker, a hungry, smart writer who, like me, has studied craft, publishing, and poetics outside of the traditional machine. Joseph is a poet and friend Ive known from my very first NYC reading; I trust him completely. His first act as editor involves bringing Eduardo C. Corral on board to curate a portfolio of queer Latino poets. Seth Pennington and I will still be involved, to some degree, as publishers, but were happy to bring new viewpoints and a string of different voices to the conversation. Four years, sixteen issues, over 2,000 pages of poetry. Its been a blast. I have one more issue - October - and I intend to go out with a party in its pages. Thanks for the love, the support, and the patience as Ive learned everything from basic editing to (sigh) spell check to distribution to design. What an education.
