After having saved free-falling careers of Rohit Sharma - TopicsExpress

After having saved free-falling careers of Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja , the BCCI has decided to extend its support to save the falling Indian rupee, which is touching 68 per dollar now. In a committee meeting that started with a wrestling match between N Srinivasan and Jagmohan Dalmiya to decide who heads the meeting, N Srinivasan came out on top and eventually claimed to have been a wrestling enthusiast all his life. In the presence of his astrologer, N Srinivasan challenged the world leaders by making a bold statement on world’s top leaders. “If the rupee doesn’t stabilize in the next week, the BCCI would stop India from playing international cricket for a year, which would result in severe world economic crisis. We will however play the IPL, and only telecast it on DD National with Hindi commentary. Foreign countries need to pay us ten times what they are paying now if they intend to telecast the IPL games in their countries,” he said. “We shall also ask Sri Lanka to stop playing cricket. Pakistan anyway doesn’t play cricket at home, we shall also ask our good friends from South Africa to stop playing any form of cricket apart from the IPL,” N Srinivasan threatened. The BCCI is also ready to scrap the South African tour and organize a surprise IPL, so that cricketers from across the globe come to India and ensure there’s no form of cricket happening anywhere until the nation’s economy stabilizes. An inside source from the BCCI also told us that another reason behind challenging the world economy was the fear that rupee might also overtake Sir Don Bradman’s batting average, that even Sachin Tendulkar wasn’t able to surpass. Rahul Dravid , who once took up wicket-keeping in the quest to save his career, said the rupee is facing the same situation that he did years ago. He suggested that the rupee should undergo a change. “Perhaps the notes can become circular and the coins can become rectangular,” he said. Sreesanth also tweeted about it saying, “Can’t we just fix a value for the rupee?” Giving a more technical explanation to the whole issue, Ravi Shastri, who also happens to be a member of the BCCI technical committee said, “By organizing another IPL, or making cricketers play only in India, we lure foreign investors to India. That’s just what the doctor ordered. It is a demand supply game after all, we create the demand. But, when we flash, we need to flash hard.” Dr. Vijay Mallya, owner of the Royal Challengers, had a long chat with N Srinivasan in one of his static Kingfisher jets, requesting the BCCI to boost the Kingfisher Airlines in a similar way. The owners of RCB and CSK, otherwise rivals, seemed to be enjoying each other’s company. Srinivasan, however, told a different story to the media. “Both of us have useless sons. So, we got along pretty well.” Arnab Goswami, in his show, The News Hour, is all set to interview several top politicians, cricketers and world leaders, because ‘The Nation Wants to Know’. Will the rupee bounce back?
