After hearing of the closure of RAF Mildenhall in 2018-2020 I was initially a bit worried for the community, but then saw it as an opportunity like no other... An opportunity for the people to have, no take back the base and its facilities rather than being left to rot or given to a corporation for free (this does happen, in London the council just gave Barrett Homes a council owned estate and 400 million pounds of tax payers money! Barrett then inform all the existing tenants they will be relocated all for private profit) which will no doubt coincidently have an MP or two on the board of directors! We can do this you know, We own it! It can be done peacefully through discussion and petitions not violence! We should reclaim it, by the community for the community, self governed with equality and ecology at the forefront of society, we dont need some ridiculously wealthy puppets in Westminster or Brussels to tell us how to live our lives for their financial agenda. A society with food and housing for all where health care is paramount and free, where the elderly and disabled are cared for and looked after in the community rather than being sectioned off, having any savings they have siphoned out through the established system, where children are taught an honest and fair education, we could use the buildings for science, art, music, meditation, yoga and sports centers to name a few, whatever we as a collective want it to be? We use the land for a return to localized organic farming providing cheap healthy food and exploring natural remedies, as well as recreational areas and parks, we can use the flight line for industry and construction, turn part of the runway into a solar farm and explore other renewable energies for a self sufficient community, a community where peoples skills are utilized for the better, rather than wasting our lives doing often mundane jobs, doing something we do not enjoy, just to keep on doing things we do not enjoy! A fair system where all contribute for the better, so that we can all work less to spend time with loved ones or doing the things we love, to enjoy life more... to live! This might sound a bit radical and out there but this can work, I believe it could be the blueprint for future towns and cities across the county, We are the 99, F&@k the 1%!
