After my other post I stood up and walked off the ridge. I went out a different way than I came in. I found several more abandoned roads and used them to my advantage. Once down on the valley floor I had to ford the creek. Luckily it was shallow enough to only get my feet wet. On the other side I walked the gravel road back to the car. The temperature fell quickly and the whippoorwills filled the night air with their songs. The rest of the walk was uneventful until I made it to the parking area. There I had to ford the stream again to get back on the same side as the car. It was about four inches deep there so I had to hold my pant legs up. Then for the drive home. I almost hit a drunk opossum wan bling down the middle of the county road. I managed to avoid him, Ill see if he survived in the morning.
