After my shift, I came home very sick so I crawled beside my daughter to take a nap after I checked her assignment and if all her school stuffs are ready since I still have at least an hour before I prepare AJ for school. I made sure I set the alarm 30 minutes earlier than the usual wake up time in case I cant get up easily. Normally, I have to prepare AJ 1 1/2 hours before which includes feeding, bathing, preparing baon and the ultimate combing and tying of her curly and unruly hair. Everyday, I make sure she gets different hairstyles with diff colors of pins depending on the color of her sweat towel at her back. Everything should be organized and presentable. All is good. All I need to do is wait for the proper time. As I lay in bed and open my eyes, I saw AJ watching TV. I thought at least we have saved the drama of waking her up. As I checked the wall clock, I saw 12:55 PM which means we only have 5 minutes to prepare! I immediately rose from bed and moved as quickly as I can. As I was bathing AJ, I asked her why she did not wake me up. She told me, Eh Mommy pagod ka kasi. I told her that its okay because school is important. She said that she heard the alarm and turned it off. While we were hurrying up, I told her that she has 2 quizzes today and we cant be late for long. So as we walk to school, we made it a game that whoever goes to school first will win. She won of course and I happily looked at her while she was pulling her stroller to the classroom. I get to rest at least for 4 hours and I as fetch her from school this afternoon, I welcome her with a big smile so I can hide the pain I am feeling from this sickness. I felt so dizzy that I can faint anytime but my daughter gave me more than I needed to be strong today. She walks on the corridor with so much energy with a messy hair. She took my hand to mano. And showed me her perfect stamp! Afterall, this is still a great day! ( Also, need to give credits to the reviewer last night Al Amaba - good job Negro! )
