After raising awareness for canine cancer, the girls of Bailing Out Benji educated about the pet store/puppy mill connection in front of Dyvigs Pet Shoppe. Yes- even local pet stores support this cruelty! Dyvigs buys their puppies from two puppy mills that EACH have over 150 dogs and have violations (including using expired medications!). Karen, Vicki and Melissa did a great job educating today! We even had a someone walk up that had no idea what puppy mills were- but they do now! Today, we protested in honor of Zoe. This sweet English bulldog was one of three that were deemed too old at a Missouri puppy mill and were surrendered. Little did Zoe know, she had found her forever family that day. Her mom was on site rescuing them and never let her go. This poor girl had around 8 c-sections while producing puppy after puppy and having them taken away too early. Zoe is ten years old and still suffers from arthritis in her hips and back legs- but she know knows the love and safety of a forever family.
