Both Werner Monka guitarist, flutist and vocalist as Bernd Molle Hohmann, and bassist Spiegelfeld Reinhold decided to leave the group. At the core of musicians keyboardist Rainer Schnelle (who later would militate other German bands like Amon Düül II, Atlantis (Ger) or Family Tree and drummer Peet Becker meet. The quintet takes its name from Weed and enters the studio recording what would be his only job, Weed. ...! (1971), in which the initiative of the record (Phonogram) appears as a collaborator guest nothing more and nothing less than Ken Hensley, keyboardist and guitarist of the British band Uriah Heep, who is inactive at the time and fail to participate in this project Weed as it did at the time with the recording Orgasm (1969) for the group / project Machine Head. Hensley contributed to the album interventions guitar, keyboards and vocals. The group disbanded in the same year 1971, after the recording. The album Weed ...!, Despite its short duration (33 minutes only six subjects) is considered a jewel of German heavy progressive rock, being somewhat eccentric or marginal at the scene of krautrock of his time due to the very accused British influence in their sound, experimenting with diverse stylistic directions in line with other German bands like Sperrmüll, Reaction (GER) or Tiger B. Smith.
