After searching my heart and seeking Gods leadership I have made the decision to present myself as a candidate to serve as the school board representative from the eighth distrct of Livingston Parish. I am not running against an opponent, but l am running for the office. I have over 28 years of public education experience as a teacher, coach and principal. Seventeen years of this experience came here in Livingston Parish. Most of that time was as a school principal in two different schools; seven years at French Settlement Elementary and then seven years at Grays Creek Elementary School after opening the school in 2004. I was selected as Elementary Principal of the Year in 2010. My wonderful wife, Phyllis, is a native of Livingston Parish and we live on highway 444 between French Settlement and Killian, La. Weve been married 23 years. Phyllis is the daughter of Mr. Silvece Martin (now deceased) and Mrs. Altha Martin. Our children are public school educated and we are proud of them and their accomplishments. If you can find it in your heart to support me it would be much appreciated. I pray that my being a candidate will give our residents in the eighth district a clear choice in the spirit of democracy.
