After the General Election on July 28th 2013, is it good for Cambodia or Bad? Before the election, participating parties are parading on the street causing traffic everywhere. Does it have an impact on the election? Honestly, I do not think so. It’s more like a thing to do for people with lots of free time to do. Today post will be about the some comments about the whole before and after election “Situation”. Before the election, people are all excited and looking forward for the election, but look at now everyone are afraid to go out. Businesses are slowing down and is affecting everyone. The result claim by CPP is 68(CPP) and 55 (CNRP) whereas the result claim by CNRP is 63(CNRP) and 60(CPP). Actually, it does not matter, because whatever the outcome it will benefit the country. With the result claim from both parties shows that whatever Law that is implemented or Projects that are approve need to have votes from both party in order to be approve. In a way it’s good, so it will not be a 1 man show no more. This will help to ease on corruption. After this election, it should be a wake up call for CPP. It shows that CPP need to have some internal management restructuring. CPP is actually doing a pretty good job in building Cambodia economy, but is just corruption is too much. Im sure corruption is happening everywhere, but in Cambodia it’s way too much. In other country they do it quietly, but in Cambodia they do it openly. Lets talk about custom department, how can the chief of custom have such a big house and so many cars? we are not talking about normal cars it’s like car that cost 100k and above. Seriously what is the pay of a government official? how is he able to afford such things? The usual answer is oh my daughter or son or wife has a business, but please seriously….this is just a very simple example, lazy to go to the extreme. lets talk about CNRP, the party promise to change and all but the public have to keep in mind, they are a NEW group corruption might be even more. This is just an assumption. It will be good if the government would put the opposition party looking after the Anti-Corruption Unit. So this will help to make sure no Ministry or government official is being corrupted. CNRP promise wage increase and it make all the people happy and want to vote for him, but seriously did the public ever think? At most what CNRP could do is implement minimum wage. At the end of the day, it’s the business owner thats pays you and not the government. And the other point is CNRP will pay old people a certain amount of money per month. The public should know that money do not grow on tree, hence what CNRP will do is get from Tax payer, are they willing to pay Tax? there is already a Tax structure, but is anyone following it? Look at Europe and America they are a welfare states and look at their economy now. A welfare country, it makes the people lazy, because without working they still get paid, and the people will for sure misuse that system then Cambodia will be messed up. Now after the election, CNRP leaders are encouraging the people to go for demonstration, but seriously at the end of the day it will be the people of Cambodia that suffer. And if UN come in, it be worse, the next thing you know, Cambodia will be like Iraq now. The people they don’t think, now all businesses have slow down because people are afraid. Is that what election should be? making the public afraid? If you have problem in your own family, you won’t want outsiders to interfere,because it will be so shameful to have your own family problem to be known by outsiders. Same thing for a country, we as Cambodian should try to safe the country and grow our country, when we fight among ourself, it will only benefit our neighboring country, and they be laughing at us. CPP have some major restructuring to do and CNRP should work with CPP to do it. Sokha Chan :)
