After the horror yesterday of seeing the coyotes and vultures fighting over a baby calf that I had just seen walking with his mom, today I got to see eight deer playing in the pasture. The younger ones were running and jumping and playing chase without a care in the world. It was such a joy to watch. Hard to believe they can jump so high with no trouble at all. They coyotes were still back there in the woods behind them because I heard them howling when the sirens went flying by. How can they not be afraid to live in the woods with them? Over all, a pretty good day except for being so tired. I have decided I am not a carpenter and I am not taking in any more strays of any kind!
