After the woes of trying to deal with Evans cycles via the interweb, I pushed and pushed and eventually got them to admit their mistake and they gave me a voucher to spend in store or online. Given that I passed an Evans store today and asked myself how much could they screw up an in store purchase, I gave it a go to use my free money. Oh how wrong I could be, the depths of incompetence that retail and sink to, my god!!!! After 30 minutes in store I was no nearer to making a purchase than when I walked in, despite spending 28 of those minutes at the checkout desk. An Oran Utan with a crayon could have worked their ordering system better. 8 times I needed to give a name and address, 3 times they needed to revisit the store room to ensure that my off the shelf display product was matched and 7 times it took them to process the voucher to work out how much it was worth. On 31 minutes, I walked out of the store, unable to successfully complete a transaction. How the hell does that company survive?
