After these nights, I finally understand why there needs to be law - TopicsExpress

After these nights, I finally understand why there needs to be law and order within a society, and the importance of law and why an ideal legal system should provide equality to everyone. Yes, sometimes the law allows unfavourable judgements, like the chinese government this time, who certainly would still go its way and ignore the will of those at occupy central. But sometimes the law also allows those who didnt commit wrongdoings (or being politically suppressed), to be treated legally, like 黃之峰 today. While some people are sacrificing and putting their lives at risk, trying to fight for democracy in hong kong, and while some people are always being selfish and only care about how they can live comfortably, and mock (or dont even care at all) at those people, maybe sometimes we have to sit back and think for a bit. I mean, the protesters courages are undeniably great and it shows how united hk people can be, but is that even equality? What if one day, there is a decision that is favourable to all the democratic parties, can the conservative parties come out and occupy central? I know it sucks to be under the ultimate boss which would only follow his own belief and path (well, legally), at least ive tried. In fact, in reality, no one can retreat what the NPC has decided (legally). Even they can pass it this time, look for the boarder picture - why dont we fight to takeover those positions in any ways that we can in the far future, and then try not to make the same mistakes as they did? This is our generation and we fight for these to help create a better world. This is how we care about this place. This is how we try to demonstrate how we love the country and the city (愛國愛港). I mean, not everyone in the NPC has the same idea and belief anyway and they debate a lot within their congresses as well! Having an altered idea as our great president doesnt quite create a betrayal to the country (叛國).... But we have to be fair to everyone - while we fight for our own wish, what if one day the opponent party fights back using the same way? This is how we should demonstrate our democracy right now - only if we give fair chances to the opponent party as well, and that is the law and order. But in any ways, stay safe Hong Kong!
