After watching the programme which followed a year in the life of Scafell, shown on BBC4 at 9pm (Weds 14th Jan) I just had to Flashback with a few fotos... Im glad & proud to say after attempting to climb Scafell Pike on the 08NOV14 for charity with a group of 35 and unable to complete as the weather was really bad and only managing to climb possibly only halfway.. A very wise decision taken by the Mountain Leader accompantying us. I felt the need to accomplish it & set out on the 18NOV14 and I went on my own to attempt to complete it... And yes I did it. I Started @ 0945 & got back to my car just after 1415, approx 4hours & 30mins up and down with a 30 min pitstop at the Summit...The weather was with me but the terrain was tough! Once getting to the area where we had stopped on the charity walk @ Hollow Stones I decided head Right towards Mickledore & it was literally a climb/scramble up the steep embankment instead of choosing Left path towards Lingmell where it was easier. I also returned down the Mickledore Route & coming down was just as hard...once reaching the top through the corridor the wind was strong & clouds very low, but the sun was trying to break through.. After climbing back down & getting back to Hollow Stones I jogged back down All in all an amazing experience & I enjoyed it & the Views...wowwwwwwwww.
