After you witness the perigee full "supermoon" on Saturday evening, join us for the Divine Liturgy of Pentecost on Sunday, June 23, at 10:00 a.m. together with the Vesperal "Kneeling" Prayers of the Holy Spirit, commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples in the upper room. This event marks the beginning of the priesthood of grace and a new mode of existence for the Church as the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit empowers us to be witnesses for Christ and bestows gifts for the benefit of the body of Christ, such as healing and prophecy. Our Parish Assembly will be held following the Divine Liturgy. "I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Joel 2:30-32a).
