Again a question to my Russian friends and friends in Russia - do the endless red carpets fill you with pride or do you ever wonder why those carpets are so long and he always walks alone? I mean, never an advisor by his side, never any indication that anyone but VVP matters? For those with Pavlovian reflex of always saying what about the US. US Presidents sometimes walk to the microphone to address the nation but - I looked at the clips - it is about 20 meters and there is no cordon of people clapping. There is such a crowd of people wanting to shake his hand when he enters the US Congress for State of the Union, but surely you will agree that is an entirely different thing as half of that room is filled with people who dont want him to be President and are actively working on making it so.
