Again, tragedy has visited a Jewish camp. In northern California, at Camp Towanga, a tree fell and a beautiful young person, Annais Rittenberg, was killed. She was the daughter of Mark and Penny Rittenberg, themselves lovers of Jewish camp; they had both worked at UAHC Camp Swig in the 1970s. A few other counselors were hurt, no campers were injured. Our hearts are saddened and our grief goes out to the Rittenbergs as they absorb this shocking and tragic loss of their beloved daughter. May they be comforted as they are enveloped by those who gather with them to mourn.
