Age is simply a number. Its the mindset that matters. I know men in their mid to late forties that act like children. I also know men in their early twenties that are far more mature than their actual age implies. What determines that mindset is how open we are to experiences and how quickly we learn the lessons put in front is us. Its all subjective, really. Driven not only by our past and present, but our future as well. A hunger for knowledge and how well we practice what we have learned is one factor. Im not speaking of societal education but rather listening to our inner voice. Some call it instinct or gut feeling. As we mature I believe we come to a place where we no longer fight our demons but begin to embrace them. Once fear is no longer given its power, we realize there never really were any scary monsters under our beds. We are then on a more even keel to learn the important lessons of unconditional love, empathy, compassion, grace, courage, faith, trust and hope no matter the God or religion we subscribe to. Those are the lessons every soul is here to learn and were afforded the gift of free will to either acknowledge and learn, or ignore but the universe will keep putting them in front of us time and again, until learnt. We come into this world kicking and screaming and spend our lives doing the same. Many go out that way as well. Those who are able to acknowledge and learn the lessons will ease from their physical body with divine love. Our souls are infinite. Once we have finished all lessons which sometimes takes many lives, our journey is complete. As we learn each lesson we are one step closer to our souls returning to the collective spirit with divine love and light.
