Agri Buzz: Heavy Rainfall Expected In Northeastern States Says IMD (12:03, 02 Sep 2013) Rainfall and thundershowers would occur at many places over northeastern states during 1st half of the current week and increase considerably thereafter, according to the weekly weather update from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha and along west coast during many days of the week. Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Tamilnadu during 1st half of the week and decrease thereafter. Rainfall wouls also occur at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan during 1st half of the week and isolated thereafter. IMD noted that widespread rainfall occurred over Coastal Karnataka for many days; over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, East Madhya Pradesh and Konkan & Goa for a few days and over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Madhya Pradesh, Marathawada, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh for one or two days of the last week. Fairly widespread rainfall occurred over Konkan & Goa for many days; over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura for a few days and over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep for one or two days of the week. Scattered rainfall occurred over Uttarakhand and East Rajasthan for many days; over Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep for a few days and over Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Marathawada and Coastal Karnataka for one or two days of the week.
