Ah Rob, wait for me to retire, then we can just talk about music all night. NIN is Nine Inch Nails, a band started by Trent Reznor in the early 90s that perfectly melded heavy metal and electronica. Trent often pays homage to Gary Numan, but his debt to electronica goes back much further. Kraftwerk has had such an incredible influence on music. Bowies Heroes, Hip-Hop, the best part of Madonnas work all go back to them. Russell Wangersky was the first guy I remember owning a Kraftwerk album, though I had heard them; the FM stations in Montreal used to play Autobahn. Russell and I used to sit in his room in McKay and listen to Radioactivity. To this day I find it beautiful and scary (and danceable). Listen to 5 minutes, youll know why:
