Ah man, Chief Greenberg was something else. I worked with him to reduce crime in West Ashley around Citadel Mall, then I worked with him on Crime Stoppers for the whole state, and finally I worked with him to reduce the juvenile crime in Charleston. He loved to talk (and yell) and he loved this city. I didnt always agree with him, but he listened to a lot of the things I said and he helped me expand the juvenile diversion programs when I first started with the Solicitors Office. I bet a lot of people only remember the end of his career when his health was failing and things did not go so well, but I think I will stick with my memories of him working to change the mentality of the youth on the streets and the silence of the victims in our community.
