Ah the number 19 ... Little known facts or oddities about me ... we will see! 1. I was born in Perry, Oklahoma on a kitchen table. My Mama was only 17 yrs. old. My grandmother wanted to name me Opal Ruth - however Mama stuck to her guns and I was named Patricia Ann. Prefer Patti .... 2. I am the oldest of 6 ... me, Laynie, Linda, Mikey, Tommy and Bobby. 3. Began running away from home when I was in Elementary School - wanted to be a famous singer. Actually sang professionally when I was 19 at the Town Hall Party in California. 4. Played several instruments in school, coronet in our marching band, but preferred the accordion. In high school, would tote on the school bus and serenade all the kids riding to and from school. You could say I had a captive audience.... 5. Grew up in a Pentecostal home, couldnt say any curse words ( have made up for that in later years) ... this is my church of choice... 4 Pentecostal singers sound like a full choir; love the music!! 6. When I was 8, Mama sent me out to the clothes line to bring in sheets which had frozen stiff. To this day not sure why, but I stuck my tongue on the line - it stuck! couldnt yell for help, so stood there dangling from the line, until Mother missed me, looked out the window and saw me. She poured warm water on my tongue to release. 7. My first boy friend (I was 10) was named Billy Barker. The problem was he didnt want to be my boy friend and told me so. I beat him up. This happened 3 times. 8. We moved from Oklahoma to Anderson, Missouri when I was in the 8th grade. 9. My favorite teacher in high school was Lucille Rataczak. She taught Literature, English and the Speech and Drama classes. I adored her. She had a way of making everything memorable. She would say, If, I knowd it was you, wouldof retched up and wove attcha! What is wrong with that sentence class? She became a dear friend of mine and we kept in touch till I was in my late 20s. 10. When I was 17 I gave birth to my first born. James Lee. My life took on a new meaning. 11. Came to California in my late teens. Sang for Ben Blue and the Mayor of Beverly Hills. Mr. Blue suggested I study 1 year and try for Broadway, or go immediately into country. Three days later I auditioned for Town Hall. Was given the stage name Patti Paul. Sang with Joe and Rosie Maphis, Leftie Frizzell, Meryl Travis, Freddy Hart, Skeets McDonald, Bill Anderson, Bobby Luman and Johnny Cash just to name a few (I was in hog heaven) ... 12. Married a young man from Missouri, and had three more kids, Martin, Jeffrey and Elizabeth. We divorced in 1973. 13. Met my present husband, Donald in 1981. We married in 84. He has 5 kids and with my 4, we had a house full when all were present. Raised his three girls, Chevi, Audra and Sarah. I call them my kids of the heart. We have 13 grand-kids, 5 great-grandkids. 14. On my 60th birthday played St Andrews Course in Scotland.. First and only course I have walked in its entirety. Was beautiful links course and felt honored. 15. My hubby and I love playing golf together, and have enjoyed many different courses over the years, one of our favorites, Pebble Beach. 16. Have lost too many loved ones. Karianne; (my first granddaughter) Jimmy; my oldest son, Sarah; Donalds youngest and our brother Mikey. 17. Wrote a book about my son entitled, Beyond Tomorrow; I believe that is where he is now. Submitted it to a publisher and it went as far as Marketing and was sent back along with a wonderfully kind letter from the Editor-in-charge of the publishing company. One day will re-submit. 18. I love fried potato sandwiches on white bread. No catsup, just salt and pepper. 19... Im now 72 years old and still am in the kitchen.... and Thats all Folks- yabbadabbadooooooooo!
