Ahh, so Michael Zionist with the Mostest Weiss presents the specious argument that the US collaboration publicly or surreptitiously with Iranbecause, drum roll: Iran is secretly in league with Sunni Islamic militants. His argument is just the opposite of those who claim that there has been a treacherous alliance between US, Iran and Israel (see the long list of exposures by Subi al-Tufayli, Trita Parsi, Wm Engdahl, Ronen Bergman, Roozbeh Mirebrahimi, Mark Phythian, Jim Bulloch, Nate Jones, Diane Rehm, Jane Hunter, etc.) Putting aside Western aid to the Iranian ulema in exile leading up to the ousting of the shah; the fact that the SAVAK was renamed but not purged by the Iranian Revolution; Osirak; Iran-Israel-Contra; US and Israel arming Iran; Iran-US cooperation on Bosnia; Iran-US cooperation on Iraq; Iran-US cooperation in Afghanistan; Iran-US cooperation in Libya; Irans war against Lebanons AMAL and Syria before Syria capitulated; Irans war against the old militant (Fatah) PLO and PFLP... Irans creation of unrest in Yemen, Bahrain and KSA has been a threat that the US has tacitly promoted as KSA and company have been building an independent political portfolio in the region. Would Iran, with its public Israel and US denouncements but private cooperation and its vocal support of its unique brand (or perversion) of Twelver Shia Islam but private war against the adherents of Shiaism go so far as to also cooperate with Sunni extremists as well? Morally there is no reason to think they would not. And we know that Iran has cooperated (and partially formed) from the Muslim Brotherhood. They even supported them openly in Egypt. And such support may fit their policy of creating chaos and unrest: American veterans of the decade-long Iraq war and occupation say that the idea is both preposterous and dangerous. Iran, they maintain, has long played a double game in Mesopotamia and the Levant, both enabling Sunni extremists to infiltrate countries such as Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon and then swooping in as the only safeguard heralded against the very forces they helped unleash. And herein lies both the reasoning for Iran-US-Israel partnering. Ultimately everything revolves around Israel and oil for the West; policies are based in a security architecture for both. Irans role is based on knows that if it would get to the point of creating too much of the wrong sort of trouble in the Middle East for the US it would find itself on the receiving end of regime change, not just idle threats.
