Ahh, that New Year smell. :) Happy 2015, everyone! I rang in the new year last night by playing my first-ever solo show that went for a solid 5 hours! I know plenty of hard-working musicians who do 5+ hours on a regular basis, but...man! Thats a long time. Played at a resort out in Palm Springs, and you just never know how those shows will go. Sometimes you are playing for a room full of people who would rather you werent there. Those are not great nights. But last night really WAS a great night. My dad and my sister came to keep me company (it was my sisters birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!), and I also met a particularly wonderful couple traveling from Canada who had seen my name on the schedule a few days prior and knew ALL of my songs! They sat front and center for the entire 5-hour show, requesting original songs and singing along to a lot of my covers. It was perfect. So, I am feeling ready and raring to go for 2015!
