Ahh, what an engaging euphoric beautifully uncompromising class wee night thon was.. and the day in Little Acorns Bookstore (Derry) as wee Shorty Dorty popped in to meet his pedigree chum Johnny Ó Gallchóbhair (especially!) & them more attractive & advantageous than (& photogaphed) than a stir or stare of word or book. Ahh, but i did succumb to gorgeous vinyls from Abbazappa record shop, went home had quick banana & kettle-cooked Pot Noodle before embracing bottled-beer Saturday night in Doire town. Whao. WoW. Blown-away-never-experienced-before-pure-indescribable-brilliance. Improvisational-experimental-modern-jazz. Pure sound/emotion. The Necks. Name says it all (above heart & soul). Euphoric. Breaktakingly physically entrancingly orgasmic. Emotionally stormed. Cant quite describe their effect. (BTW, theyre in The MAC Sunday night) & I wish more had known they were in Derry (Thanks to Declan Magee for us knowing - him the Diabolical Cat Burglar & Hat Investigator). And after we all trepped down Orchard street branching silence, funky-zazz-jazz high-five befired-up; catchin cool Duke Special with cracklin vinyl. In don Dinos with dudes & Bedlam beauties. Boogie giggles & wiggle-jives. And twirled a smile & skirting tables, Aye, Ioved it. Awh... if I could bottle thon whole wee night Id surely dwink-hug-kiss-high-five-floor it... and so glad wee Shorty Dorty sprinkled floor & not thon carpet (aka rug)... & thank God for music & beer :) xx
