Aiming for a faebook-free work day, so I wont be responding here - TopicsExpress

Aiming for a faebook-free work day, so I wont be responding here until evening. But, would appreciate input on the following question of terminology. Rima Najjar here laments/protests against the unwillingness to recognize Palestinian rights; I would say-- unwillingness to hear about violations of Palestinian rights, or about the general experience of Palestinians in the occupied/disputed territories. My question is about how theres been dispute about the terms occupied/disputed. For me, both terms ignore the crux of the problem; they both focus on the status of the land. I am far more concerned at this moment about the status of the people(s) involved. I see the main problem as Israeli military administration of the territory; with Israel controlling, but not governing. This is what i mean when i use the term occupation, rather than taking a stance on the technical legal/judicial status of the area. I ask: is there a useful label for this that would more effectively reflect the situation as a matter of life and living, rather than land or, what is called in Israel politics.
