Aims and objects for which the Society is established are the following: (i) To establish a link between poets, writers, journalists, editors and publishers of Bengali language of different provinces of India for mutual interaction in the interest of the betterment of Bengali language and literature; (ii) To establish contacts with other government or non-government societies, organisations or groups working in the interest of the betterment of Bengali language and literature; (iii) To enlist the support of the reputed authors and various celebrities for the cause of the Society; (iv) To organize poetry and other literary sessions in order to inspire and motivate young poets, writers, journalists, editors and publishers of Bengali language of different provinces of India; (v) To declare awards and prizes from time to time for poets, writers, journalists, editors and publishers of Bengali language of different provinces of India who are exceptionally meritorious and achievers of excellence; (vi) To hold meetings, seminars and conferences of poets, writers, journalists, editors and publishers of Bengali language of different provinces of India in order to discuss various problems of Bengali language and literature of India and to find out means to tackle such problems and/or to further develop Bengali langauage and literature of different provinces of India ; (vii) To bring out a newsletter or periodical to highlight the objectives of the Society and to publish news of Bengali language and literature of different provinces of India; (viii) To collaborate, co-operate and participate in joint programmes or meetings with other government or non-government societies, organisations or groups working in the interest of the betterment of Bengali language and literature; (ix) To obtain regular feedback from poets, writers, journalists, editors and publishers of Bengali language of different provinces of India; (x) To undertake studies, research and surveys relating to Bengali language and literature of different provinces of India; (xi) To publish books, booklets, anthologies, folders, handbills either in print or electronic media containing results of studies, research and surveys relating to Bengali language and literature of different provinces of India and/or current or old works of Bengali literature of different provinces of India and/or translations thereof; (xii) To do such lawful acts and things, whether incidental to the powers aforesaid or not, as may be required in order to further the aims and objectives of the Society.
