Ain’t No Way Ephesians 5:22-25 - Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the Savour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; If I may, just for a moment, let me speak to the couples out there. The Queen of Soul, which Aretha is known as, says something significant here: “Ain’t no way for me to love you if you won’t let me.” Let’s consider our text. The more commonly known piece of this passage is, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.” As Christ gave His all, to the point of giving His life for the church, likewise ought the husband love his wife. The less commonly known piece of this passage is, “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.” Just as Christ gave his all for the church, the church, in turn is to submit itself to Christ as Lord. So when your husband gives his all to you, likewise you ought to recognize him as Lord. So husbands, if your wife if trying to recognize you as Lord, and you won’t let her; and wives, if your husband is trying to give his all to you, and you won’t let him, then how can they love you? You won’t let them!! As much as we may attempt to let 1st Cor 13 be our guide, that love does not have to purposely be turned into a battle which makes it extremely hard to give that agape love. So if they’re doing all they can for you and towards you, and problems exist in your relationship, if you’ll stop by your nearest mirror you’ll find the source of the problem. What you do once you locate the source will determine if you receive the love or not. #Justsomethingtothinkabout Love you, Eddie
